Batik Charm Swap and Challenge
The votes are in, and it looks like we will be doing a batik charm swap, along with a challenge to make a quilt top of your choice with the charms you receive. If you want to participate in the swap, please convo the QuiltsyTeam by June 20:
For this swap, we will be exchanging 100 batik 5" squares, and will receive 100 batik 5" squares in return from the other participating team members. The 2nd part of the swap is to make a quilt top using all 100 charms we receive, plus 2 other fabrics from our stashes. We will also be posting pictures on the Quiltsy Flickr site of our quilt tops.
The batiks can be from your stash, or you can buy yardage (estimated 2 yards of 44" fabric for 100 5" squares) The charms do not have to be all different, but you can use as many different fabrics as you wish. The fabric does have to be prewashed, 100% cotton batiks, and accurately cut. We would ask that you do send good quality fabric because that is what we would all like to receive!
Your charm squares should be mailed to me by July 13th. I will be divide them among the other swappers, and 100 will be mailed back out to you. Please include return postage in your package for your returned blocks. After you convo the Quiltsy Team to join the swap, I will send you the address to mail your charm squares.
The deadline for posting pictures of your completed quilt top using the charms will be in September, date to be announced.
Oh, and the swap will be for Quiltsy members only, just in case you are just visiting us here.
Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Let's get the fun started!

Time for Another Block Swap
We've been discussing in the forum thread about having another block swap. We've come up with several possibilities and the options are in a poll on the right sidebar. Just to make sure we are clear, the charm swaps will not require that you use different fabrics, but you can send a variety if you wish. If we do the block swap, we will decide a specific block size for everyone to make (the reason we are doing these sizes is that I discovered that it is hard to stuff 12 1/2 inch blocks into standard mailing envelopes!) So we will choose a size that is easier to mail.
We would ask that you do send good quality fabric because that is what we would all like to receive!
You can vote for more than one option, and if you vote for the charm swaps, check the bottom option if you would like to participate in a challenge to use the charms in a project. (The challenge could be fun, we could post pictures and vote on a winner at the end - or just do it for show and tell)
Vote and let us know what you are interested in, then we can get the fun started! Oh, and the swap will be for Quiltsy members only, just in case you are just visiting us here.
